WILD stories from GUADALAJARA
I got back to Guadalajara and while recovering from a very bad cold I figured it’d be nice to tell you guys what else happened Guadalajara besides going to school and learn Spanish. And obviously crushing it π. So here I tried this new style of telling 3 stories, hope you enjoy it!
Small but fun: 1h in the Park De los Muertos
Although the Dia de los Muertos is over, I had a quick pull up in the local park of Oaxaca. It was fun, smooth, but small and while the Mexicans play ball you can’t actually skate. Still fun, so 6 out of 10 from me. If you’re close by, check it out – it’s fun to play around. And they’re upping it, just recently got the message that they’ve finished a quarter now (you see it in the background). So support your local skatepark.
Dippin’ in a natural pool Mexico
Still in Oaxaca and keen to see more than the festive activities I went on a daytrip to the Hierve el Agua in the mountains. These are natural sources and pools where you could dip in – and what I did. Spoiler: I didn’t only have “a bit much sun” but a solid cold being developed over the following days. Still a good daytrip and impressive to see this nature spectacle.
3 DAY PARTY at the day of the dead
I arrived just in time for the very traditional day of the dead in Oaxaca. All the locals and travelers I met recommended me to go to Oaxaca to celebrate this festive holiday. And yes, it was indeed very festive, but also verrrry touristic. And that being said by a tourist. No regrets nonetheless, it was super interesting to see how death can be celebrated in a different way. And I wouldn’t miss the people I met during my time in Oaxaca – greetings to Neeka, Kirsty, James and Matt! Wherever you travelers might be!
Skating MEXICO CITY goes WRONG
Sooo I thought it would be nice to do also some skate content since I travel with my board. Although I tried to skate CDMX I first didn’t find the promised spots and then crashed the halloween jam in the local skatepark… well. Next time I guess? Definitely need to go back to Mexico City.
FLYING in a BALLOON over PYRAMIDS of Mexiko City
In the quick intro of Mexico City I mentioned my booking of the hot air balloon flight – and yes, it was just amazing! Although getting up so early I met my roomies in the hallway, the trip was definetly worth it. Also kudos to the lovely girls from Guatemala and Panama! I hope to meet you there!
Spoiler: I did meet the english blokes again – in oaxaca for the day of the dead. But that’s another story π
ONE DAY in Mexico City
Allright, dunno if this even counts as an episode. Anyways. Went to CDMX and had a fantastic time there. But didn’t film as much as I was basically taking a rest from the days before and the transit by the bus. Although it was one of the cosiest bus rides ever tbh. BUT there will be a next episode about the balloon ride over the pyramids, so fasten your seatbelt π
How 1 MONTH in Mexico CHANGED me
One month has passed and a lot was going on. Not only became I friends with some local skaters but I also found into my daily routine of Spanish school, sports and food. You will see how my room looks like, how I partied and where I live. I will talk about how I experienced the Mexican culture so far, what the food is like, what things I don’t like and the peculiarities of their culture. And – well – I maybe have gotten a new tattoo.
Drink TEQUILA in TEQUILA MEXICO – the RIGHT way
It was about time to go on a weekend trip with my friends from the spanish school! In this video James, Nick, Frederic and me are making our way to Villa Tres Mujeres where we learn about the production and quality of Tequila and how to properly taste Tequila. After that we started to drink out of horns. Which is supposedly the right (and only) way Tequila should be drunken. Before ending up in the town of Tequila, we stopped by at the Canterita Place aka Cantaritos el Guero which was… well, see it yourself…
Was a great day, thanks boys!
First Days in Guadalajara + Sightseeing Biketour
After being finally over the jetlag and the tiredness of the travel I eventually got my S%&! together to show you around the city of Guadalajara and take you on one of my first days. Mexico is treating me absolutely fantastic and the culture and people are amazing! I would’ve loved to show you much more about the food, people and culture – but I did just not film enough π Also, I need to get more comfortable vlogging in the public π
So if you want to not only follow my travel journey but also my evolution as a vlogger, subscribe to my channel (PS: next video will be wild, so don’t miss out)
